The Bermuda Islands is known as a British

The Bermuda Aquarium, Natural History
Museum & Zoo is located in Smiths Parish. For the Natural

The Bermuda Maritime Museum is located in
Sandy's parish and it is the largest museum in Bermuda. This museum
traces the island's extensive nautical history. This attraction is
held in a 19th century fortress that was built by slave labor. There
are six different very large exhibit halls about Spanish
exploration, shipbuilding and the 20th century cruise ship industry.
Visitors can also find the fortress's defensive ramparts, gun ports,
underground tunnels and ammunition magazines. In 1837 the Shifting
House was built and it holds displays of gold bars, silver coins,
pottery and jewelry that are remains from 16th and 17th century
shipwrecks.
The Bermuda National Gallery is located in the
Pembroke Parish and is a great art museum that holds a very large
collection of permanent and rotating exhibits. This museum has a
portion where they focus especially on paintings and other works of
art that depict Bermuda. There are some permanent collections that
date anywhere from the 15th to the 19th century and is filled with
European paintings by Reynolds, Gainsborough and de Hooch. A few
other artists that are included in the museum are Georgia O'Keefe
and Winslow Homer. There are also some sculptures and photographs
